Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. You will assist providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures and perform administrative tasks, with on-the-job training available for career growth.

We value a high school diploma or GED, prior medical field experience, EMR proficiency, and MS Office skills. Ophthalmic technician or scribe experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify information.
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy.
• Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements.
• Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues.
• Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam.
• Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications.
• Explain how to properly use contact lenses.
• Assist with inventory management.

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.

What You Will Do:

What You Will Bring:

• Previous experience in the medical field in roles such as a medical assistant, medical scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician etc.
• Experience with EMR tools
• Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)
• Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus
