Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team in Bucks County, PA. The role involves supporting providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures, as well as administrative tasks.

On-the-job training is provided for career growth in ophthalmic tech or scribe paths. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and prior medical experience; familiarity with EMR tools and MS Office is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Experience with EMR tools and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Take medical histories and verify information.
  • Perform visual function and diagnostic tests (applanation tonometry, refraction, retinoscopy).
  • Use Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements.
  • Inform ophthalmologist about changes in vision and issues.
  • Dilate eyes to prepare for exams.
  • Explain eye drop and medication use.
  • Explain contact lens care and use.
  • Assist with inventory management.

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

  • Take medical histories and verify information
  • Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy
  • Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
  • Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues
  • Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
  • Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications
  • Explain how to properly use contact lenses
  • Assist with inventory management
Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Previous experience in the medical field in roles such as a medical assistant, medical scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician etc.
  • Experience with EMR tools
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)
  • Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus
