Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners in Scranton is seeking an Ophthalmic Associate to join our patient care team. The role supports providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures and handles related administrative tasks, with on‑the‑job training available.

Responsibilities include taking medical histories, performing visual tests, using tools like Humphrey analyzer and OCT, informing ophthalmologists of changes, dilating eyes, and assisting with inventory. Travel to other locations is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word).

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Associate to join our patient care team. Our ideal candidate passion for healthcare and learning. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.


Responsibilities

What You Will Do:



  • Take medical histories and verify information

  • Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy

  • Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements

  • Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues

  • Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam

  • Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications

  • Assist with inventory management

  • Must be willing to travel to other locations
