PRISM Vision Group's Retina Group of Washington in Chevy Chase, MD is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant for an onsite role at our Prism network. The position supports physicians with measurements, tests, and documenting findings while maintaining efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience; 2+ years preferred.
• Knowledge of patient documentation and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Record ocular and systemic history and visual acuity.
• Perform testings such as OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
• Perform lensometry, automated refractometry, slit lamp exam including tonometry and anterior chamber assessment.
• Act as scribe and enter data into EMR or paper charts.
• Administer and document ophthalmic medications as directed.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and ensure smooth patient flow.
• Ensure informed consent is obtained and procedures followed.
