Job summary

The Eye Care Surgery Center at Westfield, part of Prism Vision Group, seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant II to support physicians with exams and testing. This onsite, non-exempt role handles patient measurements, charting, and documentation while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• GED or higher; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Perform tests including OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
• Conduct slit lamp exam with tonometry and angle assessment; basic muscle balance testing.
• Act as scribe and enter data into EMR or paper charts.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
• Assist with ensuring procedures and patient consent; education.
• Oversee patient flow and maintain exam room cleanliness.
