Job summary

Prism Vision Group seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant for the South Jersey Eye Physicians location in Columbus, NJ. This onsite role supports physicians with measurements and tests to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.

The position emphasizes accurate documentation, patient service, and collaboration with the care team in a fast-paced environment. Travel to other locations may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior ophthalmic assistant experience a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Perform testing (OCT, automated fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry) as scheduled.
• Conduct lensometry, refractometry and slit lamp exams.
• Scribe during exams and enter data into EMR.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications as directed.
• Assist with patient education and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Manage patient flow and maintain exam room cleanliness and stock.
