Job summary

Houston Eye Associates seeks a flexible Ophthalmic Assistant Floater to support multiple locations across the region. You will work closely with ophthalmologists to perform a range of tests, prep patients, and assist with procedures while maintaining exam rooms and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• Spanish bilingual required.
• BLS certification required.
• Uncertified ophthalmic assistants must obtain COA/COT/COMT within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Stocking, preparing, and cleaning exam rooms and equipment.
• Review patient charts for accuracy and prepare patients for exams.
• Perform tests and assist with in-office procedures as directed.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under physician supervision.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments.
