HEA seeks a dedicated Ophthalmic Assistant Floater to travel between Gramercy and Houston locations, supporting ophthalmologists with testing, history collection, and patient preparation. You will ensure clean rooms, accurate records, and efficient workflow across sites.

The role requires 1–2 years of ophthalmology experience, BLS certification or timely acquisition, and commitment to patient confidentiality and HEA policies. Travel mileage reimbursement is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 6 months.
• Uncertified Ophthalmic Assistants must obtain JCAHPO certification within 1 year.
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience working with ophthalmology.

Responsabilités

• Stock, prepare, and maintain clean exam rooms.
• Review patient charts for accuracy.
• Prepare patients for physician exams and assist with tests.
• Assist with in-office procedures and prepare consent forms.
• Administer medications as directed and assist with documentation.
• May act as a scribe and order diagnostic tests as needed.
• Assist with patient correspondence and follow-up on tests.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments.
• Train and support other ophthalmic staff as needed.
