Houston Eye Associates seeks a floater to support multiple clinic locations. You will work with ophthalmologists to perform preliminary and advanced eye tests, prepare patients for examinations, and assist with in-office procedures.
As a traveling floater, you will cover various HEA sites and departments on short notice. Bilingual Spanish is required, with a High School Diploma or GED and BLS/JCAHPO certifications preferred.
Contributes to the organization by floating to multiple locations as needed, working closely with the ophthalmologist to perform basic, advance, and complex preliminary tests and measurements of the eyes. The OA floater generally meets with the patient before the Ophthalmologist to obtain medical history and prepare the patient for the examination. Locations serviced include Conroe, The Woodlands, Kingwood and Spring HEA locations.
Other duties as assigned based on business operational needs.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS). If not BLS certified at time of employment, must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
Uncertified Ophthalmic Assistants must obtain JCAHPO (COA, COT, or COMT) certification within 1 year of employment.
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working with ophthalmologist. Bilingual Spanish required.
