Comprehensive EyeCare Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant at Evergreen Eye Center Seattle, WA. This entry-level full-time position supports ophthalmologists with clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities include performing eye exam testing, assisting with Visual Field, OCT, and topography, handling prescription refills per physician, and educating patients on medications and pre-/post-operative care while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One-year experience in a patient care and/or customer facing position preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Ability to perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.
• Other diagnostic testing such as: Visual Field, OCT, Corneal topography, etc...
• Providing phone support with request for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.
• Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by physician.
• Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Assists with opening and closing duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
