Job summary

Comprehensive EyeCare Partners is seeking an entry-level Ophthalmic Assistant to support ophthalmologists in providing eye care services. The role involves both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient practice operations.

Work hours are generally Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 4:15 PM across all five locations. A high school diploma is preferred, with one year of customer-facing experience and medical experience considered advantageous.

Qualifications

  • One-year experience in a customer facing position preferred.
  • Medical related experience preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficient in use of internet.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing such as Visual Aids, OCT, Corneal topography, etc.
  • Provide phone support for prescription refills as authorized by physician.
  • Educate patients on medication administration and pre-/post-operative instructions as directed by physician.
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

An Ophthalmic Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting ophthalmologists in providing eye care services to patients. They assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of the practice.

All 5 locations - M-F: 7:15AM to 4:15PM

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
