Job summary

Comp EyeCare's Evergreen Eye Center Burien, WA is seeking an entry-level Ophthalmic Assistant to support ophthalmologists with eye care services and administrative tasks. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:20 AM to 4:00 PM; full-time position.

The role involves running specialized eye tests (Visual Field, OCT, corneal topography), assisting with patient flow, handling prescription refills, patient education on meds and pre/post-operative care, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant privacy.

Qualifications

  • One-year experience in a customer facing position preferred.
  • Medical related experience preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficient in use of internet.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing such as Visual Field, OCT, Corneal topography.
  • Provide phone support for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.
  • Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions.
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

An Ophthalmic Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting ophthalmologists in providing eye care services to patients. They assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of the practice.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:20AM to 4:00PM

Physical Demands
