Job summary

InterCon Construction in Wisconsin is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator to support trenching, piping, and utility projects. You will operate rubber-tire tractors, backhoes, skid loaders, dozers, and vibratory plows, following safety practices and project specs.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL, willingness to travel, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks daily. You will also review blueprints and maintain equipment while supporting laborer duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Willing to travel.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to lift and move 20+ pounds regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and safety focus.
• Experience operating rubber tire tractors and other heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures while operating heavy machinery.
• Locate underground utilities prior to starting work.
• Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements.
• Use various machines to move dirt and debris.
• Guide and install pipe and cable using machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Assist with laborer tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Locate underground utility services such as pipes or wires prior to beginning work.
• Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements.
• Utilize different machines for placement and removal of dirt and debris.
• Use machinery to guide and install pipe and cable.
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with laborer jobs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license, Class A CDL required.
• Willing to travel.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift, push, pull 20+ pounds regularly.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience operating rubber tire tractor.
• Experience operating other machines (backhoes, skid loaders, dozers, sidebooms, vibratory plows, etc.) preferred.
