Job summary

InterCon Construction is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator for field work in Wisconsin. The role involves operating tractors and assorted machinery to place, grade, and install pipes while maintaining safety standards.

Candidate must hold a Class A CDL, be willing to travel, and able to perform physically demanding tasks throughout long shifts. Prior experience with multiple heavy machines is preferred, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Class A CDL license is required.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and walk for long periods.
• Able to lift/push/pull 20+ pounds regularly.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Experience operating a rubber tire tractor.
• Experience operating other machines (backhoes, skid loaders, dozers, sidebooms, vibratory plows) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures while operating heavy machinery.
• Locate underground utilities before starting work.
• Review blueprints or specs to determine work requirements.
• Operate machines for earth placement and debris removal.
• Use equipment to guide and install pipe and cable.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Assist with laborer tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Locate underground utility services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work.
• Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements.
• Utilize different machines for placement and removal of dirt/debris.
• Use machinery to guide and install pipe and cable.
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with Laborer jobs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/Equivalent.
• Valid driver's license Class A CDL required.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, stand, walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull 20+ pounds regularly.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience operating a rubber tire tractor.
