Job summary

InterCon Construction is seeking a skilled equipment operator to perform heavy machinery duties on construction sites in Madison, WI. You will locate underground utilities and read blueprints to guide placement of pipe and cable, using a range of machines to move dirt and debris.

The role requires CDL Class A, ability to travel, and physical stamina to stand, bend, kneel, and lift 20+ pounds regularly. Safety procedures must be followed, and routine maintenance of equipment will be performed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CDL Class A license is required.
• Must be willing to travel and able to work long periods.
• Must be able to lift 20+ pounds regularly and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery and locate underground utilities per job site.
• Read blueprints/specs to determine work requirements.
• Place and remove dirt/debris using various machines.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist Laborer duties as needed.

Essential Job Duties: Follow safety procedures while operating various heavy machinery as related to each job. Locate underground utility services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work. Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements. Utilize different machines for placement and removal of dirt/debris. Use machinery to guide and install pipe and cable. Perform routine maintenance of equipment. Assist with Laborer jobs as needed.

Perform Other Duties As Assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/Equivalent. Valid Driver's License Class A CDL required. Must be willing to travel. Must be able to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods of time. Must be able to lift/push/pull 20+ pounds regularly. Must have Strong Communication Skills And Attention To Detail. Experience operating rubber tire tractor. Experience operating other machines (IE backhoes, skid loaders, dozers, sidebooms, vibratory plow etc.) preferred.
