Job summary

Oatey in Omaha, NE is seeking a Production Operator to maintain a smooth flow of operations on an assigned line. You will oversee materials, start-ups, line speeds, and quality checks while ensuring safety and compliance across shifts.

Responsibilities include completing production records, auditing SOPs, training new associates, and contributing to Lean and ISO initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce downtime. A High School Diploma and good communication are required.

Qualifications

• Fluent English reading and writing; able to follow instructions and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; demonstrated teamwork across shifts.
• Basic math skills and problem solving are required.
• Knowledge of safety procedures (lockout/tagout, machine guarding) and OSHA standards.
• Prior manufacturing/distribution experience in the department is preferred; two years for in-depth product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain smooth flow of operations by organizing resources and start-up activities.
• Complete production records and data entry; assist with changeovers and line flushes.
• Oversee downtime clean-up; manage material handling and replenishment to meet schedule.
• Audit areas for SOP compliance and document material quantities and operator assignments.
• Start-up equipment, adjust line speeds, and perform quality inspections.
• Provide training to new or temporary associates on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Participate in CIP/LEAN events and document changes per ISO guidelines.
• Maintain 6S housekeeping and effective team communication; support cross-shift collaboration.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear PPE; ensure guards and storage are in place.
