A leading organization is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Facility Maintenance Supervisor. This full-time position involves overseeing the maintenance of recreational facilities, managing staff, and ensuring safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility maintenance, leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence. This position is responsible for maintenance of all recreational facilities, fleet repairs, maintenance and replacements, shelters, playgrounds, signs, construction projects, special events, and support projects as assigned. This is an exempt position that requires a commitment of 40+ hours per week year-round, including occasional evening, weekend and holiday hours. This position is responsible for answering and responding to after-hours emergencies.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Park Management or related field is preferred. Trades certification or training and work experience in trades is highly desirable for this position.
Experience: Five years parks and facility maintenance or related work experience including leadership/supervisory responsibilities. Thorough knowledge of facility and playground maintenance operations including mechanical, plumbing, electrical and lighting systems. Thorough knowledge of personnel planning and supervision including the ability to plan, organize, supervise and monitor the work of others seven days a week. Position requires good leadership ability and the ability to get along well with all levels of staff. Ability to keep records and generate reports and to work from oral and written direction; good written and verbal communication skills. Good knowledge of accident prevention precautions applicable to park maintenance operations. Must have strong computer skills with a knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets (Microsoft Office). Practical knowledge of equipment and tools used in parks and facilities maintenance. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Certifications: Must be able to obtain and keep Certified Playground Safety Inspector certification. Must be able to obtain and keep current CPR and AED certifications. Must possess a valid Illinois Drivers' License.
