Position Purpose

The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) oversees all operational activities for assigned practices, including P&L management, process improvement, and team engagement. The RDO acts as a vital link between practices and Heartland operations, aiming to improve the lives of veterinarians. The ideal candidate will have mixed animal veterinary experience and be based in Texas, Arkansas, or Louisiana. This is a full-time remote role.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, manage costs, and implement efficiencies across practices.
  • Build strong relationships with practice teams, preserving local culture and providing operational support.
  • Manage P&L, develop strategies to meet financial targets, and motivate teams.
  • Support growth initiatives and integration of new practices.
  • Evaluate and coach practice managers for optimal performance.
  • Foster team productivity, collaboration, and engagement.
  • Enhance the lives of veterinarians through strategic planning and support.
  • Communicate operational messages effectively across the organization.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years in multi-site operations
  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred)
  • Experience in veterinary or similar multi-site healthcare industries
  • Team management experience
  • Previous P&L and budget management
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%
