Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a leadership role responsible for guiding employees to ensure on‑time, damage‑free shipments and superb customer service. The position emphasizes coaching, safety compliance, and continuous process improvement within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include planning manpower, directing daily activities, handling rate quotes and claims, and maintaining strong partner relations. Strong communication and organizational skills are required for success.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, as well as company policies and procedures, preferred.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop company employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with a focus on quality, customer deliverables and safety.
• Actively monitor unsafe acts/conditions and correct immediately with corrective action.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules for timely, damage-free freight delivery and pickup.
• Communicate job assignments coordinating with all employees clearly.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
• Monitor actual performance data and gather information for reporting.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Identify freight moving at incorrect weight/classification.
• Ensure OS&D is identified and processed properly.
• Perform administrative functions as required.
• Comply with all laws/regulations and company policies/procedures.
