Western Midstream is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead on‑site produced water pilot operations in a demanding field environment. You will oversee team performance, equipment reliability, and safety compliance while coordinating cross‑functional activities to support the pilot program.

The role requires 10+ years in operations management, the ability to be in the field 100% of the time, and a proven track record of leading large teams.

Responsibilities

  • Team Management: schedule and address personnel issues while maintaining team morale
  • Site Operation: maintain high equipment availability and coordinate pilot program changes
  • Safety Oversight: ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain records
  • Financial Management: approve weekly/monthly invoices and track operating expenses
  • Reporting: track performance metrics, expenses, and safety performance monthly
  • Communication and Leadership: lead shift handovers, daily team meetings, and project reviews
  • Vendor and Inventory Management: manage vendor relationships and maintain parts inventory
  • Training and Development: ensure SOPs are current and training is completed timely
  • Logistics: coordinate pickup/shipping of parts, equipment, and lab samples
  • Administrative Tasks: manage time tracking, expense reports, and site operations

Our core assets provide services for customers in the Delaware Basin in West Texas and New Mexico, and the DJ Basin in northeastern Colorado, and the Powder River Basin in Northeast Wyoming. Additional assets and investments are located in South Texas, Utah, and Southwest Wyoming.

We’re engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs) and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, recycling, treating and disposing of produced water for our customers. In our capacity as a natural gas processor, we also buy and sell natural gas, NGLs, and condensate on our behalf and our customers under certain gas processing contracts.

Job Summary:

We’re driving innovation through advanced water treatment technologies and pioneering brine mining techniques to extract valuable metals and minerals, strengthening domestic supply chains. In this role, you will help advance the beneficial reuse of produced water through onsite operations management of our beneficial reuse pilot sites. The Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in fostering a productive and cohesive work environment. By efficiently managing a wide array of responsibilities, this individual ensures the smooth functioning of beneficial reuse operations, supports team members, and contributes to the overall success and growth of the organization.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in an operations management role or similar experience
  • Ability to be in the field 100% of the time

  • Strong management skills with ability to manage 15 direct reports and maintain an efficient operation while fostering a strong team culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Manage personnel schedules, personnel issues as they arise, and team morale/culture
  • Site Operation: Manage the operation to maintain high equipment availability with expedited repairs and changes as required by the pilot program
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure compliance with safety protocols, manage safety issues as they arise, and maintain safety processes, procedures, and records.
  • Financial Management: Approve weekly and monthly invoices, manage P-card approvals, and track operating expenses according to the operating budget.
  • Reporting: Track and report performance metrics, operating expenses, and safety performance on a monthly basis or as required.
  • Communication and Leadership: Lead the operating cadence for communication including shift handover, daily team meetings, and monthly project meetings. Ability to lead site tours, and communicate to all stakeholders about the operation.
  • Vendor and Inventory Management: Build and maintain relationships with vendors, oversee sourcing of equipment and supplies and maintain accurate parts inventory.
  • Training and Development: Ensure SOPs are up-to-date, training is completed in a timely manner and records are properly kept.
  • Logistics: Coordinate tasks including pickup or shipping and delivery of parts, equipment, and lab samples. Assist in coordination of site tours for stakeholders.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage time tracking, expense reports, and other activities as required for efficient operation of the site.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree required in relevant operations or related field. Additional experience may be considered in place of the degree requirement.
Travel Requirements:
  • Onsite management is required for this position.
Work Schedule:

This position will need to be onsite everyday M-F and will work a full day every day.
