Overview

Job Title: Operations Supervisor 2nd Shift

Job Location: Williamsport, PA

Responsible to direct, delegate, and supervise assembly and technical operations of the assigned product area. Mentors, trains, and motivates all direct reports to achieve the best end results.

Responsibilities

1. Meet or exceed set production quotas and targets.
2. Delegate job tasks and schedules as per personnel abilities and skills.
3. Meet or exceed set yield targets.
4. Mentor all team members through leadership, motivation, and training.
5. Ensure employees are cross-trained on key tasks to serve as backups.
6. Communicate sub-assemblies’ delivery status with other supervisors and management.
7. Properly handle scrap or by-products through reuse, recycling, or disposal.
8. Interact and seek input from Production Engineers and Management.
9. Submit overtime requests when necessary.
10. Ensure all final assemblies or sub-assemblies are of high quality with minimal rework or returns.
11. Maintain proper functioning of equipment and tools, and meet calibration schedules.
12. Review assembly methods and drawings regularly to identify and recommend improvements.
13. Report injuries or illnesses promptly to EH&S.
14. Lead or participate in product line transfers.
15. Troubleshoot human, manufacturing, or equipment issues using available resources.
16. Conduct performance reviews and set objectives for direct reports.
17. Be proficient in tasks assigned to team members, especially during backlogs or rushes.
18. Train a Lead member as a backup during absences.
19. Take disciplinary actions following company guidelines without bias.
20. Ensure PPE and ISO guidelines are followed daily by all staff.

Qualifications

1. Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent with five years manufacturing experience.
2. 5+ years of supervisory experience or hands-on experience in Assembly Operations in a high-tech or Defense industry.
3. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
4. Effective communication skills.
