Job summary

Forward Air Corp. in Windsor, CT is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day multimodal transportation and logistics operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate execution of core service processes.

You will provide direct leadership to frontline associates and drive productivity, adherence to standard work, and continuous improvement. You will mentor and coach team members, manage SOPs and safety initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer

Qualifications

• 3+ years in warehouse, distribution, or logistics with supervisory/leadership responsibility.
• Experience leading frontline teams in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain before operating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operational activities across logistics workflows.
• Coordinate and prioritize work assignments to meet service, safety, and productivity targets.
• Ensure safe handling and on-time processing of inventory, freight, and equipment.
• Monitor workflow, labor use, and equipment to support efficient execution.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and change control processes.
• Support audits and compliance activities (quality, safety, regulatory).
• Lead problem-solving for service issues, delays, or escalations.
• Participate in Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen continuous improvement initiatives.
