Avfleet.ai in San Francisco, CA is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead the Operations Coordinators and driver cohorts, own the schedule, and drive KPI performance. This onsite role requires coaching a high‑performing team and delivering staffing solutions across shifts.

You will ensure timekeeping accuracy, enforce California wage and hour compliance, and manage incidents with a focus on safety and efficiency. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years supervising or leading an hourly workforce in delivery, logistics, transportation, warehouse, or field operations — or an equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Experience building schedules for 20+ hourly employees
  • Comfort with scheduling, timekeeping, and dispatch software, and with spreadsheets
  • Availability for early morning, evening, and weekend shifts on a rotating basis
  • Clear communication — you can coach someone and document it.
  • A valid driver’s license, and the ability to meet our vehicle insurability standards and the driving-eligibility requirements of the delivery platforms we operate on. Operating our vehicles is an occasional part of this job, and no other form of transportation substitutes for moving a company van.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordinator team. Direct a team of Operations Coordinators who together supervise about 80 drivers — set priorities, resolve escalations, and hold the team accountable for their driver groups.
  • Own the schedule. Build driver and Operations Coordinator shift schedules against forecasted volume, manage call-outs, and keep overtime under control.
  • Develop people. Coach drivers and coordinators, run performance conversations, handle corrective action and nurture a culture of ownership, collaboration and sense of urgency.
  • Keep timekeeping clean. Review and approve driver and coordinator hours, confirm meal and rest periods are recorded correctly, and ensure strict compliance with California wage and hour laws.
  • Run the daily numbers. Track attendance, driver KPIs, and exceptions, and propose action plans for improving performance. Own the outcome when things go sideways. Direct the response to on-site incidents and vehicle events, figure out what changed, and make sure it gets reported and fixed.

Job description

avfleet.ai is a FaaS company that operates large scale depots that manage EV and AV fleets. In the Operations Supervisor role, you will lead our Operations Coordinator team and their driver cohorts. You will own the schedule, and be accountable for driver KPIs. If you like solving staffing problems in real time and are passionate about supervising high performing teams then this job is for you.

What you’ll do
  • Lead the coordinator team.
What you bring
  • Two or more years supervising or leading an hourly workforce in delivery, logistics, transportation, warehouse, or field operations — or an equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Experience building schedules and managing timekeeping for 20 or more hourly employees

We don’t require a degree for this role.

Nice to have
  • Prior experience driving on a rideshare or delivery platform such as Uber or Lyft.
  • Experience with EV fleets, charging operations, or other fleet depot operations.
  • Working knowledge of California labor laws pertaining to overtime and meal and rest breaks.
  • Conversational ability in Spanish.
The work environment

This is an on-site role in an active vehicle yard. You’ll move between the office and the yard throughout the day, occasionally lift items up to 40 pounds, occasionally get in and out of vehicles, and work a schedule that includes early mornings, evenings, and weekends. If you need reasonable accommodation to perform any part of this job, we’ll work through it with you.

Compensation and benefits

Base salary: $72,050 – $75,000 per year. This is the good-faith range we reasonably expect to pay for this position on hire. Where you land in the range depends on your experience, skills, and internal equity.

We also offer medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and California paid sick leave.

Equal opportunity and legal notices

Avfleet.ai is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, creed, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, pregnancy or related conditions, age (40 and over), physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, military or veteran status, citizenship or immigration status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
