Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a team of entry-level production employees and ensure customer demand is met.

You will coordinate production activities, oversee safety, quality, and Lean initiatives, manage scheduling, and partner with the Compliance Manager on training. The role emphasizes efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement to support plant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience leading and developing a team in an industrial plant environment.
• Experience working in or managing within a union environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for a team of entry-level production employees to meet customer demand.
• Coordinate production activities to support daily distribution requirements, including local delivery routes and shuttle operations.
• Lead reliability, compliance, quality, and safety initiatives to meet government and environmental regulations; coordinate training with the Compliance Manager.
• Monitor production outputs and staffing levels to maintain efficiency, anticipate problems, and develop contingency plans.
• Communicate and collaborate with first shift counterpart to ensure smooth operations and effective shift handoffs.
• Identify operational issues and lead improvement initiatives related to production processes, shift schedules, and training; report activities to plant management.
• Oversee inventory levels, manage equipment and product quality issues, and support 5S and Lean Projects to reduce costs.

What Makes You Great

• You must have a high school diploma or GED; bachelor degree preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial plant environment with at least 2 years of leading and developing a team
• You should have experience working in, and/or managing within a union environment is strongly preferred
