Job summary

Linde Inc. is seeking an Operations Superintendent in Phoenix, AZ to oversee an Air Separation Gas Plant serving a semiconductor customer. You will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance while directing a multi-disciplinary team.

The role requires leading troubleshooting, coordinating field and control room activities, and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity. A strong background in engineering and supervisory experience is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related discipline; OR 5+ years of industrial plant ops with at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with analyzers, sampling systems, and control room operations (DCS/PLC).
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting and drive operational improvement in a production environment.

  • You will oversee operations of an Air Separation Gas Plant supplying high-purity gases to a semiconductor customer, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance
  • Lead, supervise, coach, and develop a team of analytical/instrumentation and electrical technicians, providing guidance in operations, field rounds, and customer interface activities
  • Schedule, assign, and coordinate daily work activities to ensure adequate staffing, operational continuity, and effective execution of plant operations
  • Foster a culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the facility
  • Further, you will coordinate daily activities across the control room, field operations, and Customer Use Point building to support production and customer requirements
  • Ensure production goals are consistently achieved while maintaining efficiency, equipment reliability, and semiconductor-grade gas purity standards
  • Review plant performance, operating trends, process data, and equipment status to optimize operations and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of plant upsets, equipment failures, process deviations, and customer supply issues
  • And you will oversee analytical equipment performance at the Customer Use Point building and ensure compliance with strict semiconductor customer specifications and quality requirements
  • You will serve as the primary liaison between plant operations, engineering, maintenance, reliability teams, and customer technical representatives
  • Support customer audits, quality reviews, incident investigations, and corrective action activities
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental permits, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures
  • And you will maintain accurate operating and compliance records, including QA documentation, PSI records, variance reports, and maintenance logs.
  • You will collaborate with maintenance, reliability, and engineering teams to plan and execute outages, inspections, maintenance activities, and reliability projects
  • Also, you will utilize hands-on technical expertise and leadership capabilities to support long-term plant reliability, operational performance, and workforce development
What makes you great
  • You have a degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related technical discipline preferred; alternatively, more than five (5+) years of industrial plant operations experience and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of analyzers, sampling systems, control room systems (DCS/PLC), and industrial field operations. Experience with quality systems, safety programs, regulatory compliance requirements, and operational best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead troubleshooting, problem-solving, and operational improvement initiatives in a production environment
  • Proven ability to supervise, mentor, train, and develop a multi-skilled technical workforce
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coordinate with internal teams, contractors, customers, and leadership
  • Ability to work independently and effectively support a 24/7 production environment, including occasional off-hours support
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment with potential exposure to high noise levels and cryogenic gases
  • Commitment to the use of required PPE and strict adherence to safety policies, procedures, and compliance standards
  • Availability to participate in on-call rotations, overtime assignments, and emergency response activities as required
