Position Summary

PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM GallupBranch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque,NM.

The Universityof New Mexico has established branch colleges to serve the citizens of NewMexico and to provide the highest quality of education for students pursuingpost-secondary education at different locations throughout the state. Branchcolleges respond specifically to the unique needs and multiculturalbackgrounds of their respective communities by offering community educationprograms, career education including certificate and associate degreeprograms, and transfer programs that prepare students for upper divisionentry into colleges and universities.

The University of New Mexico-Gallupis seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Operations Specialist/Dual Credit Coordinator to lead and grow our dual-credit and concurrent enrollmentprograms. This role serves as the central point of coordination between theinstitution and K-12 partners, ensuring that dual-credit offerings arecompliant, well-administered, and provide a seamless experience for students,families, and school partners. The ideal candidate combines strongrelationship-building skills with a solid understanding of education policy,data management, and program administration.

Key Responsibilities
Program Oversight
  • Provide day-to-day oversight andadministration of the institution's dual-credit and concurrentenrollment programs.
  • Monitor program performance,identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements.
  • Coordinate course scheduling,instructor credentialing, and course approval processes in partnershipwith academic departments.
  • Serve as the primary point ofcontact for internal stakeholders regarding dual-credit programoperations.
  • Prepare reports andpresentations on program status for institutional leadership andgoverning bodies.
K-12 Partner Liaison
  • Build and maintain strongworking relationships with K-12 district administrators, counselors, andinstructors.
  • Serve as the main liaisonbetween the institution and partner high schools, addressing questionsand resolving issues as they arise.
  • Facilitate regular communicationand meetings with school partners to align program expectations,calendars, and updates.
  • Represent the institution atK-12 partner events, counselor meetings, and community outreachactivities.
Operating Agreements & Compliance
  • Develop, negotiate, and maintaindual-credit operating/articulation agreements with K-12 partners.
  • Ensure agreements align withapplicable state statutes, administrative regulations, accreditationstandards, and institutional policy.
  • Monitor changes in relevant lawsand regulations and proactively update agreements and procedures tomaintain compliance.
  • Collaborate with academicaffairs, appropriate university administrative offices, and districtpartners to review and renew agreements on a regular cycle.
Admissions & Onboarding
  • Design and continuously improveadmissions processes specific to dual-credit students, ensuring clarityand ease of use for students, families, and school counselors.
  • Develop onboarding materials andexperiences (orientations, guides, welcome communications) to helpstudents and parents understand expectations, responsibilities, andresources.
  • Coordinate application,placement testing, registration, and enrollment verification processeswith admissions and registrar offices.
  • Provide training and support tohigh school counselors on institutional admissions requirements andprocedures.
Data Collection & Outcomes Tracking
  • Collect, maintain, and analyzedata related to dual-credit enrollment, course completion, grades, andstudent outcomes.
  • Track longitudinal outcomes such as persistence, GPA, and degree/credential completion for formerdual-credit students.
  • Prepare data reports forinternal decision-making, state reporting requirements, andaccreditation or grant purposes.
  • Identify trends and opportunitiesfor program improvement based on outcome data.
