Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Operations Shift Lead for 3rd shift (10PM to 6AM) to join the CESO effort in Arlington, VA. The role is 100% on-site, overseeing monitoring, incident triage, and coordination across teams to ensure SLAs are met.

The ideal candidate holds a TS/SCI clearance, DoD 8750 IAT II certification (Security+ce or equivalent), and has strong expertise in ITIL processes, monitoring tools, and NOC/SOC operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of related experience in Windows or Linux server environments.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
  • DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II (e.g., Security+ce).
  • May be required to obtain CI Poly in future.
  • Comfortable working 24×7 shifts (nights, weekends, holidays).
  • Experience leading an operations team or as a senior escalation point.
  • Excellent communication and incident coordination skills.
  • Strong decision-making under pressure while leading a small team during outages.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or Splunk.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, and switching.
  • Familiarity with Windows/Linux infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • Hands-on IT Cybersecurity, Network Operations, or Windows Server administration.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are currently seeking an Operations Shift Lead 3rd shift (10PM to 6AM) to join the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office (CESO) effort. This program is establishing a modern secure web service (SWS) operation as part of a state‑of‑the‑art, highly automated platform capable of supporting a rapidly expanding customer population.

This position is based in Arlington, VA and is 100% on‑site.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate operations tasks during assigned shifts.
  • Oversee Monitoring of network, servers, applications, and infrastructure for outages and performance issues.
  • Own incident triage, escalation, and resolution through closure.
  • Coordinate with network, systems, security, application, and vendor teams.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, escalation procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Review alerts and incidents for trends, recurring problems, and potential improvements.
  • Conduct shift handovers and maintain accurate operational documentation.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance during complex incidents.
  • Prepare incident reports, shift summaries, and operational metrics.
  • Participate in major incident management and post‑incident reviews.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of overall related experience with a Windows or Linux server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree
  • An active TS/SCI security clearance is required for this position.
  • Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g Security+ce.
  • Candidate may be asked to obtain CI Poly in future
  • Comfortable working 24×7 shifts , including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous experience leading an operations team or acting as a senior escalation point.
  • Excellent communication and incident coordination skills.
  • Strong decision‑making under pressure. Must be able to make independent risk based decisions while leading a small team during outages.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, or equivalent
  • Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, switching
  • Familiarity with Windows/Linux infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • Hands on experience in IT Cybersecurity, Network Operations, or Windows Server administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experienced with DISA and DISA’s support to mission partners
  • TS/SCI w/CI Poly Preferred
  • Previous shift‑lead or team‑lead experience in a DoD, military, or cleared NOC/SOC environment
  • Experience refining shift SOPs, playbooks, or escalation procedures based on operational trends

Pay Range:

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
