Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an Associate in Operations & Manufacturing to lead and deliver complex client engagements across manufacturing and distribution. You will work with private equity leadership to identify, design, and implement solutions that improve portfolio company performance.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of professional experience in manufacturing and/or distribution functions.
• Deep functional expertise in at least one of the listed areas (e.g., supply chain, manufacturing, CapEx planning, Manufacturing 4.0/IIoT, lean).
• Excellent fact‑gathering and analytical skills, including process mapping and quantitative analysis.
• Experience designing and leading change/communications strategy, both internal and external.

Responsibilities

• Gain understanding of target manufacturing and distribution operations including org design, capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing, and team capability.
• Evaluate maintainability and operability of production facilities.
• Review data to assess efficiency, capacity, equipment conditions, maintenance logs, and production numbers.
• Provide shop-floor insights by engaging with employees and customers and reviewing data.
• Identify cost improvement opportunities through lean improvements, outsourcing, or consolidation of facilities.
• Develop transformation plans and identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Oversee quality of deliverables and manage day‑to‑day relationships to ensure high performance.
