Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) team seeks an Associate: Operations & Manufacturing to lead large, complex client engagements. You will assess target companies’ manufacturing and distribution operations, identify cost-improvement opportunities, and design transformation plans in collaboration with PE leadership.

You will drive lean initiatives, evaluate plant capabilities, and oversee delivery quality while mentoring teams and maintaining strong

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of professional experience in manufacturing or distribution.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Deep expertise in manufacturing and/or supply chain with lean and Six Sigma experience.
• Experience leading large client engagements and change management.

Responsibilities

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of target manufacturing and distribution operations including org design, capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing, and team capability.
• Evaluate maintainability and operability of production facilities.
• Review data to assess efficiency and capacity, including equipment, maintenance, spare parts, and production numbers.
• Provide on‑the‑shop insights by engaging with employees and customers and reviewing data.
• Identify cost-improvement opportunities through lean, outsourcing, or facility consolidation.
• Develop transformation plans and identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and manage day‑to‑day team relationships.
