Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Manager, Operations & Manufacturing within its Private Equity Performance Improvement practice in the United States. You will lead large, complex engagements with PE leadership to design and implement manufacturing, supply chain, and operations improvements across portfolio companies.

The role requires 7–10+ years in manufacturing or distribution, with deep functional expertise and proven interaction with C‑suite executives and private equity partners.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of professional industry experience, with a minimum of 4 years specializing in manufacturing and/or distribution functions.
• Deep functional expertise in manufacturing and/or distribution areas including supply chain operations, plant optimization, and process improvement.
• Experience working with C‑suite executives and private equity deal/operating partners.
• Proven track record leading large, complex engagements with client leadership.
• Strong analytical, data-driven approach and ability to map business processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver large, complex PE engagements focusing on manufacturing, distribution, and operations improvements.
• Understand target manufacturing and distribution operations, including org design, capacity, efficiency, quality, planning and warehousing.
• Review data to assess efficiency, capacity, equipment conditions, and maintenance histories.
• Provide shop floor insights through employee/customer conversations and data review.
• Identify cost-improvement opportunities via lean, outsourcing, or facility consolidation.
• Develop transformation plans, outline risks and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure high-quality deliverables and manage day-to-day team and stakeholder relationships.
