JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Operations Manager for a new and innovative siding company focusing on single-family residential new construction. The Operations Manager will oversee field operations nationally, with a focus on suppliers, on-site workers, timely delivery, and quality of installation and product. Our proprietary technology platform is central to operations, supported by a dedicated team of 6 developers to enable real-time system improvements. This role will be primarily remote, with regular visits to sites, customers, and workers.

Ideal candidates are experienced construction managers with expertise in siding, estimating, and process management. Joining a financially stable startup with 20 years in the home building industry offers an opportunity to develop systems and build a team, shaping the future of siding in construction. Success requires viewing technology as a support tool and effectively communicating field feedback to enhance our skilled trade network.

DUTIES
  • Implement systems, including SKU list entry for materials & labor costs, worker roles, and checklists.
  • Develop scheduling formulas based on material quantities.
  • Create tools needed lists for workers.
  • Produce installation training videos and onboarding assessments for new users.
  • Identify new suppliers by zip code, create delivery checklists, and enter data into the system.
  • Sourcing and onboarding experienced industry workers via the proprietary app, including interviews with HR.
  • Conduct estimating tasks such as verifying quantity takeoffs for materials and labor, and calculating gross margins.
  • Review daily GM reports to monitor job starts and onsite workers.
  • Perform onsite visits, providing training as needed.
  • Verify VPO requests and troubleshoot issues.
  • Monitor reports to ensure effective worker training and adjust as necessary.
  • Identify waste and adjust quantities to optimize future homes.
  • Verify delivery processes are functioning properly.
  • Interview workers to improve service and address concerns.
  • Confirm job completion status and analyze reasons for delays or issues.
  • Monitor scheduling reports for potential issues.
  • Assess training needs and update system information accordingly.
  • Ensure warranty service orders are completed as scheduled.
  • Engage with builders to assess satisfaction levels.
  • Communicate system needs to the tech team.
SKILLS
  • Proficiency in construction estimating techniques.
  • Knowledge of trim carpentry, drywall installation, masonry, tile laying, caulking, and welding.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience with power tools and safety protocols.
