Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager in Wichita, KS to lead production, implement Lean/Six Sigma initiatives, and maximize on-time delivery and quality within our Repair Center and New Production Line.

The role reports to the PDS Director of Operations and supervises up to 40 direct labor hourly employees. Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related field with 7–10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, and a proven ability to leverage AI tools to improve

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business, Engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of proven manufacturing experience or equivalent.
• Strong leadership driving organizational change.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
• Proven ability to work with AI tools to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise production employees and manage hiring/training.
• Ensure production requirements are met and address problems with subordinates.
• Coordinate labor to maximize throughput within schedules.
• Review reports and resolve manufacturing and maintenance issues.
• Maintain time/production records and ensure safety compliance.
• Interpret policies, blueprints and job orders for workers.
• Establish or adjust procedures to meet production schedules.
• Suggest improvements to increase efficiency and product quality.
• Prepare and meet forecasted delivery commitments.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships.
