Job summary

AMETEK Inc. in Collegeville, PA seeks an Operations Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations across multiple departments and shifts.

You will drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery while guiding production supervisors and hourly staff to achieve efficiency and cost targets. The role requires 7+ years of leadership in a regulated or precision manufacturing setting, with strong Lean, KPI, budgeting, and labor-management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Experience leading production teams in a regulated or precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and performance management systems.
• Proven ability to lead through supervisors and drive accountability at all levels.
• Experience with production planning, KPI management, budgeting and labor management in a union environment.
• Experience in metals, tubing, medical device, aerospace, or other precision manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across multiple production departments and shifts.
• Drive a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all EH&S requirements.
• Establish and monitor metrics including throughput, productivity, quality, on-time delivery, scrap, and labor utilization.
• Develop production plans and allocate resources to meet customer demand and business objectives.
• Lead and develop production supervisors, leads, and hourly employees to improve capability and accountability.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and efficiency.
• Partner with Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and capacity.
• Utilize Lean and Continuous Improvement tools to eliminate waste and enhance effectiveness.
• Support annual operating plans and manage departmental spending within budget targets.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems and customer requirements.
• Participate in capital planning, production expansion projects, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Foster employee engagement and positive relations in a manufacturing environment.
