Job summary

Teach For America is seeking a Manager, Operations to oversee operations for a portfolio of regions, including AmeriCorps program management, retention, and compliance. You will coordinate with senior staff, ensure background checks, and streamline incoming corps member processes.

This role emphasizes project planning, cross-team collaboration, and adaptable leadership across multiple workstreams, with a strong focus on efficiency and accuracy to support region-wide service days and training

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of work experience.
• Willing to work some nights and occasional weekends.
• Travel: Ability to travel 2-8 times per year, depending on AmeriCorps requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operations and Logistics (25 - 30%)
• Manage CM retention procedures, ensuring exits and leaves are documented and processed on time.
• Support preparation of operations and logistics for the summer teaching practicum for each region in your portfolio.
• Provide logistical support & communication for scheduling (check-ins, team meetings, internal/external meetings, or events).
• Support with data management
• Ensure coordination between matric team and MD,LDs for streamlined incoming corps member experiences.
• Develop and execute communication systems or templates as needed.
• Support capacity during corps member smoothing windows for ICM confirmation.
• AmeriCorps Management (55 - 60%)
• Plan, communicate, track, and manage AmeriCorps action items for all members in assigned regions (enrollment, background checks, midyear evaluations, exiting/end-of-year paperwork, etc.).
• Train other staff on AmeriCorps requirements.
• Maintain AmeriCorps files and respond to audits.
• Plan and implement virtual and in-person service days.
• Train principals on AmeriCorps requirements.
• Provide input to standardized work and pilot new products as needed.
• If regions have state grants, track state requirements.
• Build relationships with commission staff and attend required meetings.
• Provide data for grant applications and reports.
• Assist in other hubs during peak periods.
• Other duties (10-20%) as needed.
• Engage in personal reflection and learning.
