Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. seeks an operations manager to oversee a single site or fleet, optimizing assets and profitability while ensuring excellent customer service. The role requires coordinating with multiple shifts, managing driver coverage, and driving continuous process improvements.

The candidate will forecast freight volumes, train staff, monitor budgets, and prepare performance reports, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED + 3-4 years supervisory experience or a Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean motor vehicle record per JB Hunt standards.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a single site/account or fleet to optimize assets and profitability.
• Forecast freight volumes and power/equipment needs; adjust capacity accordingly.
• Train and audit processes to improve day-to-day operations.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Manage fleet operations: driver coverage, safety, and performance metrics.
• Lead budget performance reviews and analyze deviations from plan.
• Prepare regular reports on operational and financial KPIs.
• Ensure Safety/DOT training compliance for all fleets/drivers.
• Support employee development and recognition programs.
• Be the primary contact for assigned customers/ramp to ensure service quality.
