Flynn Group of Companies in Austin, TX seeks a Roofing Operations Manager to lead a high‑performing commercial roofing division. This senior role focuses on growing the business, mentoring a diverse team, and delivering safe, on‑time projects while strengthening client relationships.

You will drive strategic initiatives, oversee estimating, scheduling, and field operations, and represent Flynn at industry events.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in commercial roofing preferred.
• Strong people skills including abilities to teach, coach and mentor.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial roofing systems (EPDM, TPO, PVC, etc.).
• Accounting knowledge required.
• Engineering/drafting experience a plus.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and MS Suite; ability to learn new PM software.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high‑performing, cohesive division team.
• Lead and support division staff in day‑to‑day operations.
• Ensure safety, quality, profitability and timely execution of work.
• Develop and implement policies and best practices for the division.
• Represent the company in new business opportunities and at industry events.
• Secure follow‑up work with existing clients based on performance.
• Oversee project teams and bid reviews with the Estimating team.
• Monitor project financials and progress; mitigate risks.

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for building a high‑performing, cohesive team and establishing consistent, reliable continuity across all roles and functions.
• Lead, manage, and support division staff in day-to-day strategic activities.
• Ability to meet goals and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Lead in the development and implementation of organization policies, best practices, procedures and attainment of operating goals for your team.
• Represent the company in new business opportunities through contact with individuals who are a critical part of new project opportunities.
• Represent company at industry events and client networking opportunities.
• Secure follow-up work with existing clients based on past performance.
• Lead and delegate project teams by providing guidance and direction.
• Qualify bids and lead the Estimating team through Bid reviews
• Oversee performance of projects to ensure safety, quality, profitability and timely execution of work.
• Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports including performance reviews.
• Ensure effective scheduling of all items/actions required to complete a project on time and on budget.
• Establish and maintain client relationships and develop a high level of trust and credibility with clients, alliance partners, subcontractors and project teams.
• Meet with the branch management team to review project financials and overall progress of division. Identify any projects that may be in trouble and resolution for getting back on track.
• Report identified potential business risk elements and design and implement mitigation efforts.Build and maintain relationships between industry leaders, associations and organizations.
• Exercise global decision making by considering other departments within the company such as project management, sales, estimating, accounting, purchasing, etc.
• Monitor and report on operational activities, staff and budget projections.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bilingual in Spanish is a Plus
• 10 or more years of experience in Commercial Roofing industry preferred
• Strong people skills including abilities to teach, coach and mentor
• B.S. degree in Business, Construction Management or related educational field preferred
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems required
• Knowledge of sheet metal work is an asset
• Knowledge of roofing systems required (EPDM, TPO, PVC, etc.)
• Accounting knowledge required
• Engineering and/or drafting experience a plus
• Computer proficiency in (Bluebeam and MS Suite) and ability to learn new Project management software’s as well as proprietary Flynn software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, while providing exemplary customer service.
