Hunts Community Cancer Network (HCCN) is seeking a senior, hands-on Operations Manager to translate strategy into an annual operational plan and oversee people, processes and resources for high-quality community support.
You will line manage the Programme Manager, Fundraising Manager and Administrator, coordinate activity leaders and volunteers, and liaise with NHS partners. This is non-clinical.
HCCN supports adults in Huntingdonshire living with or beyond cancer. Its free Move, Mood and Food programmes complement clinical care and help people build confidence, connection and wellbeing.
This senior, hands-on Operations Manager reports to the Chair and Board of Trustees. You will turn strategy into a manageable annual operational plan and maintain the people, processes and resources needed for high-quality, sustainable community support. You will line manage the Programme Manager, Fundraising Manager and Administrator, and coordinate activity leaders and volunteers. This is a non-clinical role.
You will have significant operations or organisational management experience, ideally in a smaller organisation; experience turning objectives into plans, overseeing budgets, improving systems, working with trustees or a senior governance group, and managing people or volunteers. You can apply proportionate governance and risk controls, use evidence to improve performance, exercise sound judgement and communicate with varied partners. Charity, NHS or cancer-sector experience, volunteer development and relevant qualifications are helpful but not essential.
Permanent, 25 hours a week, normally worked flexibly and primarily from home in Huntingdonshire. Local meetings and activities, in-person trustee meetings every six weeks, and some evening work are required. Salary is approximately £25,000-£28,000 a year at 25 hours (£40,000-£45,000 FTE), depending on experience. Annual leave and pension details will be confirmed in the offer.
