Job summary

Home-Start Wandsworth is a local family-support charity working with parents and young children through volunteer relationships and group activities.

Role overview

The Operations Manager is a senior leadership role overseeing the organisation's systems, operations, governance support and impact measurement. The role helps the team deliver effective services and uses data to improve delivery and show outcomes for families.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Managing Director and senior team on strategic planning, business-plan priorities, service development and organisational sustainability.
• Build links across the Home-Start network and with external advisers.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures, including GDPR and health and safety; manage the operations budget.
• Improve administration, communications, technology and premises systems, including Google Drive, Google Forms and Charity Log.
• Lead operational projects, Home-Start UK quality assurance and national data requirements.
• Oversee data collection, evaluation and the annual data review, working with the Family Services Manager to use family outcomes in service design.
• Produce insights for impact reports, funding applications and trustees; support governance and Board reporting.
• Line manage the Business Support Administrator and Data Consultant, and support volunteers who do not undertake home visits.

About you

The charity seeks an experienced operations manager who can combine strategy with hands-on delivery, lead a small team and handle several projects. Essential experience includes service evaluation and data analysis, GDPR and related policy, Board or data-led reporting, project management and clear communication. You should be comfortable learning systems such as Charity Log, Monday CRM and Slack, and understand local community needs and services.

Hours, location and pay

Permanent, 21 hours per week, hybrid in Wandsworth. The advert states £32,000-£35,000 per year pro rata
