Job summary

YJM Apparel Group Inc., a New York-based apparel wholesaler, seeks an Operations Manager to own product flow from factory to customer across Ladies and Men's divisions. You will oversee production, freight, warehouse, and billing, translating daily data into leadership actions.

You will lead a logistics and operations team, build SOPs, and coordinate with sales, production, and finance to keep POs, shipments, and invoicing on schedule. Experience in import logistics and ERP/WMS is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in supply chain or related field.
  • 5+ years of apparel or consumer goods operations experience, incl. 2+ years managing people.
  • Hands-on import logistics experience: ocean freight, customs, forwarders.
  • Knowledge of retailer compliance, routing guides, and EDI.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (pivot, lookups, reconciliations).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain production list and track each PO from order placement through factory ship date.
  • Flag SKUs at risk of missing ship dates and drive recovery plans with production and factories.
  • Run weekly open order reports; reconcile commitments and ATS inventory.
  • Coordinate ocean and domestic freight with forwarders and carriers; verify freight billing.
  • Oversee 3PL/warehouse operations and ensure WMS data integrity.

Job description

YJM Apparel Group is a New York-based apparel wholesaler with Ladies and Men's divisions. We source from overseas factories and ship to major off-price and department store retailers.

Role overview

The Operations Manager owns the flow of product from factory to customer across both divisions. The role keeps production, freight, warehouse, and billing on schedule and accurate, and turns daily operating data into decisions for leadership.

Key responsibilities
Production and order management
  • Maintain the production list and track each PO from order placement through factory ship date
  • Flag SKUs at risk of missing ship dates and drive recovery plans with production and factories
  • Run weekly open order (OO) reports, separating confirmed POs from commitments
  • Reconcile customer commitments and unit takes against available-to-sell (ATS) inventory
Logistics and freight
  • Coordinate ocean and domestic freight with forwarders and carriers
  • Verify freight billing against PO statements and proofs of delivery before payment
  • Manage inbound scheduling, customs documentation, and delivery appointments
  • Monitor carrier performance and negotiate rates
Inventory and warehouse
  • Oversee 3PL/warehouse operations, receiving accuracy, and WMS data integrity
  • Produce weekly inventory aging reports and recommend actions on aged stock
  • Ensure retailer routing guides, labeling, and compliance requirements are met to avoid chargebacks
Finance support
  • Run three-way match on factory invoices against POs and receipts
  • Support payment requests and batch payments with finance
  • Track and dispute customer chargebacks and deductions
Team and process
  • Lead and develop the logistics and operations team
  • Build SOPs and automate recurring reports and workflows
  • Act as the main operations contact for sales, production, finance, and key customers
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in apparel or consumer goods operations, including 2+ years managing people
  • Hands‑on experience with import logistics: ocean freight, customs, forwarders
  • Working knowledge of retailer compliance, routing guides, and EDI
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
Preferred
  • Experience with off‑price retailers
  • Experience with Asian factory sourcing and production calendars
  • Familiarity with apparel ERP/WMS systems
  • Bilingual English/Korean or English/Mandarin
Skills and tools
  • Strong attention to detail on invoices, freight bills, and inventory counts
  • Clear, fast communication with factories, forwarders, and buyers
  • Ability to prioritize across two divisions and many open POs
  • Comfortable with Excel, Google Workspace, WMS/ERP systems, and EDI portals
  • Interest in automating manual reporting (AI tools, scripts, or macros a plus)
