Job summary

Commercial Metals seeks a results-driven operations manager to lead daily branch activities in Baton Rouge, coordinating trucking, shipping, and receiving while driving performance and safety. You’ll develop forecasts, budgets, and plans with the Area Operations Manager and coach frontline teams to deliver reliable service.

You will oversee inventory, equipment care, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction, fostering accountability and engagement across the workforce as the division

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of management experience in construction services, logistics, or manufacturing.
• Proven leadership skills with a results-driven and collaborative mindset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of transportation, logistics, material handling, and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for extended periods
• Ability to work in uncontrolled climate environment and in the elements

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily operations including trucking, shipping, and receiving
• Develop and implement efficient operations strategies to boost productivity and cut costs
• Maintain branch inventory, minimizing loss due to fraud, quality issues, or miscounts
• Collaborate with the Area Operations Manager to develop forecasts, budgets, and business plans
• Demonstrate strong front-line leadership by coaching, mentoring, and developing team members while fostering accountability and engagement
• Resolve customer and employee issues promptly and professionally
• Support sales objectives by ensuring timely and accurate product delivery and service execution
• Maintain facility cleanliness, equipment condition, and regulatory compliance
• Participate in community engagement networking to enhance the company's reputation
