Job summary

LB Foster in Indiana is seeking a seasoned manufacturing supervisor to oversee yard and weld train operations, aligning finance, engineering, manufacturing, materials, maintenance, safety and quality to boost productivity and quality.

You will lead budgets, drive continuous improvement, and develop procedures to meet customer needs and on-time delivery while ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Travel required 15–20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 7-10 years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
• Understanding of general accounting practices.
• Knowledge of Lean principles, Six Sigma and manufacturing best practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage departmental and facility operating budgets, expenses and systems to meet or exceed targets.
• Lead safety/environmental, quality, manufacturing, equipment upgrades, and plant admin functions.
• Develop procedures and systems to meet customer needs and ensure timeliness and delivery.
• Oversee hiring, training, transfers, and HR policy for hourly staff.
• Lead safety training, investigations and preventative behavior.
• Provide staff training: leadership, function and career training.
• Ensure 100% compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
