Job summary

Service Corporation International in Holland, MI seeks an Operations Manager to oversee the combined funeral home, cemetery, and/or crematory operations. This role ensures high-quality services, manages AR/AP, cash handling, and payroll, and coordinates memorial merchandise orders and reporting.

The position requires at least 2 years of bookkeeping and clerical accounting experience, strong computer and MS Office skills, and exceptional communication and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or completion of a diploma-training program at a college or technical school.
• Two (2) years bookkeeping, general office, clerical accounting, and Accounts Payable experience required.
• Solid working knowledge of computers, MS Office, e-mail, internet and basic office equipment required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates the accounting function and daily operational activities of the location.
• Manages collections of accounts receivable and payments of accounts payable; handles cash deposits and petty cash.
• Reviews time cards and administers payroll policies; administers local HR processes and new hire paperwork.
• Ensures compliance with company policies including SOX and DU training; maintains confidentiality of sensitive files.
• Coordinates orders, inventory, and memorial/casket processing; maintains records for vaults, urns, and decorations.
• Provides customer service to families; updates obituaries and website, and ensures obituaries appear in newspapers.
