Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operations Manager to lead teams and plan site operations ensuring safety, compliance and efficiency. You will manage resources, budgets, and cross-functional projects while mentoring staff and coordinating with regulators.

The role emphasizes adherence to policies, driving performance metrics, and protecting assets across the facility while supporting license renewals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience.
• 3 years supervisor experience.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste management.
• Knowledge of current industrial safety practices and hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal operations.
• Analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to management and employees.
• Participates in site evaluations and prepares inclusive quotes including scopes of work, price estimates and contingencies.
• Makes recommendations for workflow and project management improvements.
• Works with governmental and regulatory agencies and maintains community relations.
• Ensures operations are properly staffed and personnel are properly trained.
• Participates in budget development and manages operating and capital expenditure budgets.
• Develops and monitors metrics to measure operational objectives.
• Evaluates operations to control costs and maintain competitive position.
• Protects company assets through facility maintenance; supports license/permit renewals.
• Implements company policies and procedures; ensures alignment with customer expectations.
