Job summary

Novelis Ashville is seeking an Operations Leader to guide site operations with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will build engaged teams and collaborate across functions to achieve production and business goals while upholding Novelis’ culture of safety and teamwork.

You will drive continuous improvement, coach staff, and partner with Supply Chain to align schedules with customer needs, all within a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience supervising in a complex, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operational functions across the site.
• Lead the safe, efficient, and continuous improvement of operations within the three primary machine center areas.
• Manage, coach, and develop employees on the Operations team while delivering key business objectives established by the company.
• Collaborate with Process, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational Excellence teams to maximize operating performance.
• Partner with Supply Chain to optimize production schedules and support customer requirements.
• Work with Human Resources to reinforce team behaviors that align with Novelis standards within a collective bargaining environment.
• Lead operations in safely achieving short-term production plans and performance objectives.
• Contribute to important policy and strategic decisions.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational policies and procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
