Job summary

Novelis Ashville seeks an Operations Leader to oversee site operations, reporting to the Plant Manager. You will lead safety, quality, and efficiency initiatives, build capable teams, and drive continuous improvement across functions to meet production goals.

The role requires guiding cross-functional teams including Process, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality, while collaborating with Supply Chain and HR to align with company standards and a union environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field or 5–8 years of manufacturing/line ops experience.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with reliable follow-through.
• Knowledge of melting, continuous casting, hot rolling, and related process equipment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site-wide operational functions and safety programs.
• Lead safe, efficient operations and continuous improvement efforts within core machine centers.
• Coach and develop Operations team to meet production goals and business objectives.
• Collaborate with Process, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational Excellence teams to optimize performance.
• Partner with Supply Chain to optimize production schedules and meet customer requirements.
• Work with HR to reinforce team behaviors in a union environment.
