Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a supervisor to lead and develop a team, ensuring on‑time, damage‑free shipments.

Responsibilities include monitoring safety, planning daily manpower, coordinating assignments, analyzing performance data, and upholding service standards with customers and partners. The role requires strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills, plus knowledge of LTL, DOT, OSHA rules, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, as well as company policies and procedures, preferred.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop company employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with a focus on quality, customer deliverables and safety.
• Monitor safety and correct unsafe acts/conditions with corrective action.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure on‑time delivery and pickup.
• Communicate job assignments and coordinate with all employees.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify cost-cutting opportunities while maintaining safety standards.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and appointments.
• Monitor performance data and assist with reporting.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Identify freight with incorrect weight/classification and address.
• Ensure all OS&D is identified and processed properly.
• Perform administrative tasks as required.
• Comply with laws and company policies; perform other duties as needed.
