MERS Goodwill is seeking an energetic Assistant Director of After-Retail & Logistics in Bridgeton, MO. The role supports a mission-driven retail management team with a focus on salvage revenue and safe, efficient store operations.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in business or logistics, 3 years in logistics or multi-unit retail management, and a valid MO/KS/IL driver's license. Competitive benefits and a 25% travel expectation accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in business or logistics and supply chain preferred.
• Three years of Logistics Management or Multi-Unit Retail Management required.
• Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance in MO, KS, or IL required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including customer service, conflict resolution, and change management.
• Strong strategic planning, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
• Great time-management and organizational skills.
• Leadership skills including decision-making, goal setting, and problem-solving.
• Ability to motivate and lead employees and hold them accountable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a single Outlet Center, overseeing the pound store, warehouses, and recycling to maximize salvage revenue.
• Regularly visit departments to monitor progress and guide staff on methods and performance standards.
• Review departmental reports and analyze trends to make recommendations for changes within retail division.
• Maintain records for MDNR, DOT, IRS and other reporting requirements.
• Model core values and foster a safety, ethics, and quality culture.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service to ensure donor/shopper/staff retention and de-escalate issues.
• Coach employees on performance, discipline up to termination, and identify candidates for advancement.
• Attend departmental meetings to coordinate activities and discuss procedures and responsibilities.
• Keep knowledge of market trends and sales strategies; safeguard property and data.
• Assist HR or Risk Management in investigations of theft or misconduct.
• Follow all agency policies and values; provide store coverage as needed.
• Offer benefits like medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
