Job summary

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic Transportation Manager to join our Transportation team in Missouri. The role supports our mission, Changing Lives Through the Power of Work, and offers hourly full-time employment with a $35 hourly rate.

The incumbent will supervise transportation operations, hire/train staff, manage budgets, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate the movement of donated goods to stores and agencies.

Qualifications

• Must have 3-5 years Tractor Trailer driving experience.
• Valid MO or IL Driver's License and CDL.
• Must be DOT certified.
• Must maintain personal auto insurance.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to operate a truck per motor vehicle operator's manual in MO and IL.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Transportation.
• Ensure there is sufficient staff to support retail transportation needs and provide services to retail stores as needed.
• Maintain a system to provide transportation and collection of goods to and from agency.
• Help to coordinate, and monitor Retail's donated goods, transportation, and salvage.
• Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff.
• Provide and maintain services in a cost-effective manner.
• Ensure budgetary constraints are maintained.
• Register, obtain inspection(s) and licensing of transportation operated vehicles in compliance with state regulations and guidelines.
• Obtain maintenance and repair of all transportation operated MERS/MGI vehicles, owned, or leased.
• Must read, follow, and model all MERS/Goodwill policies and Goodwill Retail procedures.
• Responsible for recording and maintaining accurate information for the DOT, Internal Revenue Service, and other assigned reporting requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Individual and family medical benefits for full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week.
