Job summary

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our Lafayette operation on the second shift. You will partner with leaders and employees, delivering hands-on HR support in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle employee relations, investigations, coaching, and policy guidance while supporting onboarding, staffing, benefits, and HR systems. A strong emphasis on confidentiality and cross‑functional collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of HR experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with employee relations, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with HR technology and business systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with supervisors, managers, and employees across second‑shift operations.
• Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, coaching, and corrective action.
• Provide guidance on HR policies, employment practices, attendance, leave, and workers’ compensation.
• Support employee engagement, retention, and workforce effectiveness initiatives.
• Assist with onboarding, recruiting, staffing, and benefits administration.
• Maintain accurate employee records and utilize HR systems and reporting tools.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.
