Job summary

Wallenius Wilhelmsen seeks an HR Generalist for Lafayette, IN on second shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM). You’ll partner with supervisors and hourly staff across operations, handling employee relations, investigations, coaching, and corrective action to maintain a productive, compliant workplace.

• 3–5 years HR experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with employee relations investigations and conflict resolution.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with HR technology and business systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with supervisors, managers, and employees across second-shift operations.
• Manage employee relations matters including investigations and coaching.
• Provide guidance on HR policies, attendance, leave, and workers’ compensation.
• Support employee engagement, retention, and workforce effectiveness initiatives.
• Assist with onboarding, recruiting, staffing, and benefits administration.
• Maintain accurate employee records and utilize HR systems and reporting tools.
